Letter from the Editor

Dear Readers,

Thank you for all your interest and support over the semester.

The Lutrinae will be taking a brief hiatus over the course of California State University, Monterey Bay’s (CSUMB) winter break and will pause production until late January at the start of the spring semester.

I am extremely proud of The Lutrinae’s teamwork over the semester. Under the restraints of virtual learning and the pandemic, our writers remained inspired, prevailing to create valuable and insightful content. The newsroom was able to create news, columns, surveys and more for the enjoyment of all Otters, and we are excited to continue doing this in 2021.

I also want to thank readers for their time and interest. Student participation in the weekly photo contest, Otter Chatter and with commentary in our articles enriches the newspaper and is a fun, collaborative way to connect to the CSUMB community.

As The Lutrinae continues to adapt to the online school year, please reach out to us with any comments, concerns, story ideas or submissions that may be of interest to Otters. Readers can do so by visiting our about page at thelutrinae.com to contact the team or send a letter to the editor, as well as submit personalized work.

Amidst this stressful point in time, be kind to yourself, and to others. I hope the winter break is gratifying, relaxing and fun for all.

Have a great break,

Sydney Brown
