What do you do when you don’t feel loved?

By Melany Menezes

What do you do when you don’t feel loved?

Do you search for it?

Looking in all the wrong places

Never learning to love yourself first

Expecting yourself to drown in the loneliness

Or perhaps die from thirst?

What do you do when you don’t feel loved?

Do you wish for an end?

Waiting for the day when you’re found dead

Hurt yourself until you don’t feel pain

Always feel as if you are going to faint

You have nothing left to gain

What do you do when you don’t feel loved?

Wait for the lights to go out

Then let tears simply pour out

Are you alone in the dark?

Making everything seem so bleak

Never even bothering to speak

The world is just so obsolete

What do you do when you don’t feel loved?

Do you keep quiet?

Hoping that the silence is enough noise

Hoping for someone to hear those silent cries

Those in the middle of the night when you don’t try

Just hoping you can get by

What do you do when you don’t feel loved?

I don’t do anything

I suffer in silence

I increase the pain

I keep it all contained

I hardly complain

I just feel unloved

That is what we do when we don’t feel loved.
