Step Forward

I will never sit in this room again
But I’m not the sentimental type
In a matter of days, will leave it and lock the door
And that will be the end of it
No, I’d rather look forward
Find somewhere new to make a home
and new friends to call family
No point in staying stuck where I am
Here will be a memory to me soon
because that’s what time does
It is too relentless to stand still
It carries everything with it as it moves
So I hop in the driver’s seat of the moving van
The boxes in the back are filled with everything I own
The gold horizon stands in front of me
I step on the gas and don’t look back
