Food from the gods

By Jose Guzman

Yes, very exquisite delights
Truly lucky for me.
Like a fusion of new worlds
Colliding together.
The crunchy, bumpy surface
Imperfect but unique.
The fresh, crispy green lettuce
Crinkles with each bite.
Cool, icy sour cream splashed on top
Splotches from here to there.
The god of spice, la salsa,
Spice too unmatched,
Against la paleta de tamarindo…

Certain few are the lucky ones,
To truly testify to the ultimate food,
The potato taco,
Glorified in full spectacle,
Highly honored above all,
Praiseworthy to its title,
Food relished by the gods…
