Book Review of “The Unhoneymooners” by Christina Lauren

One word: yes!

Written by a dynamic duo penning under the name Christina Lauren, this book delivers a funny, light-hearted and witty romantic comedy perfect for adults.

“The Unhoneymooners” is full of charismatic charm and humor, provoking smiles throughout.

This book is an easy read and a perfect pick-me-up for the shelter-in-place order. Lauren’s novel is relatable, funny and effortlessly follows the exuberant budding romance of Olive and Ethan, who relish the perks of a 10-day all-paid Maui honeymoon at the expense of their respective bedridden and food poisoned bride and groom siblings.

Olive comes face to face with the reality of having to spend 10 days with her brother-in-law, Ethan. Convinced from a negative past encounter with Ethan, Olive affirmatively believes there’s no chance this recently scored vacation can be decent – even pleasurable. Perhaps it’s island magic, but things are about to take a spin.

“The Unhoneymooners” flows naturally and is filled with loveable characters. Lauren does a fabulous job of moving the storyline along. The book is warm, playful and soft.

I loved reading this book! There were numerous moments where a huge smile would cross my face. The novel is a humorous mini-vacation without any travel expenses.
