Truth
As you read my verses, my words, my rhymes,
you begin to see my purpose—
the reason I write.
For we are our history, our thoughts, our cries,
we ought to share knowledge
like air fills the skies.
Sharing your story will only invite truth into our lives.
and create resistance to the faulty, untruthful stories about our kind,
recreating history one word at a time
by those who know what it was actually like–
For our stories, real history
will be taught and finally, recognized.
