With fall TV in full swing, the Lutrinae staff has been settling into the season with a collection of our favorite TV shows. Below is a curated “staff picks” list of shows ranging from classic vampire TV to modern superhero shows, yet to release their season finale. Hopefully this list motivates you to take a break from work, make a bowl of popcorn and settle into your couch or covers for a good binge.
Lanterns

“Lanterns” is an interesting watch because while everyone knows what/who Green Lantern is—and how he is another role model for the hero mold—this show provides complex context on the consequences and responsibilities it entails for the Green Lantern successors who hold up to the title’s legacy.”

“It’s a show that brings in people from different corners of the media world, and it’s always fun to see how my favorite celebrity or artist does every week. It’s also one of the most positive reality competition shows which makes it an easy watch every Tuesday.”
Adrianna Dart – Staff Writer
Abbott Elementary

“It’s such a funny show, the mockumentary style exaggerates every silly moment but it also puts real issues into perspective every episode. Also, Quinta Brunson, the main character and writer of the series is so talented and I’ll be devastated the day this series ends.”

“It’s a humorous drama with an interesting character dynamic, and I’m eager to see how it will play out.”
Amanda Richman – Lead Designer
Adults

“Adults” is probably one of my favorite comedies in recent years. It’s funny, a little crass, and has one of my all time favorite actors, Jack Innanen. It takes a story similar to those we’ve seen in shows like “Friends” and “New Girl,” and adds something new to it for the next generation.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

“I wanted to watch something seasonal for the fall atmosphere. This show also dives into themes that are more than just saving the world from vampires, demons and ghouls.”
