Five of the Lutrinae’s favorite caffeinated drinks to get you through finals season

College students, cram sessions and caffeine often blend together in  a semi-chaotic medley in the time between finals week and anticipating the winter holidays. With the monotonous routine of study, exam, project, repeat – a new pick-me-up drink can provide just that! Below are some of the Lutrinae staff’s favorite caffeine drinks. Look through, and maybe find a new source of energy to power your study sessions!

Iced oat milk vanilla latte

“My go to, no matter the season! I am an iced gal in the cold no matter what. Something about it reminds me of an oatmeal raisin cookie removing the worst part! The RAISINS,” said Staff Writer Hayley Matto.

Monster Zero Ultra

A favorite of Visual Editor Amanda Richman because, “All of the vending machines on campus consistently have them, so they are easy to grab before a class or study session!”

Hot golden milk with a shot of espresso

“Golden milk is perfectly smooth and feels like drinking a softly spiced, warm fall day, and coziness is a must when working. That, and my crippling caffeine addiction that is satiated with a shot or two of espresso,” said Staff Writer Eli Heck.

Bluephoria Yerba Mate

“I’m convinced Yerba Mate is the only reason I’m still functioning! At this point, it deserves an honorary degree right next to mine,” said Business Manager Lindsey Ruiz.

Iced matcha latte with two shots of espresso and strawberry cold foam

My beloved, double-caffeinated drink for when I desperately need to cram. I don’t get it often, the added espresso shots and foam really hike up the price, but when I do it’s an extra special treat! The earthiness of the espresso and matcha is perfectly balanced by the sweetness of the strawberry cold foam. Don’t knock it ‘til you try it!
