A la mesa

All sorts of smells fill the casita

Y todos están hablando

Mi mamá cocina arroz con pollo

I hear laughter radiate throughout the house

All these people come together

Each have spent the day working

Y para cenar, estamos juntos

Mi familia y mis amigos son importantes

Porque aquí, at this table, we sit

We see the journey that those before us took

They are the ones that have made us able

Capaz de trabajar

Capaz de vivir en este país

Y for that, I am grateful

I may not know much Spanish

Pero I am proud of my hispanic heritage

Y amo mi gente y mi cultura

Sí se puede
