Monterey’s Fish House 

Located along Del Monte Avenue in Monterey, Monterey’s Fish House hosts delicious seafood with a vibrant community setting. This local establishment also offers homemade pasta and steaks for anyone craving a dish other than seafood. Monterey’s Fish House is a family-owned business, and the restaurant has connections with Monterey’s local fishing industry. Fresh seafood makes this hidden gem a must-visit attraction for visiting families. This establishment is a well-kept secret from tourists, which makes it the perfect place for the entire family to escape the crowds. Serving only lunch and dinner, guests have the option of when it is most convenient for them to eat.

The Fish Hopper

An additional bonus of this restaurant is that it is right next to the shops of Cannery Row, and it is within walking distance of the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Company 

Located right next door to the Fish Hopper, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company is a fun and iconic restaurant for the entire family. Based on the classic film “Forrest Gump,” guests will see many items and references to the movie inside of the establishment. The food is based on the recipes from the movie; mostly seafood of Southern cuisine.

The location allows guests to look out at the stunning blue water of the Pacific Ocean. You can spot a variety of marine life next to the restaurant. Bubba Gump Shrimp Company is located next to many Cannery Row shops, and it is within walking distance of the aquarium.

Old Fisherman’s Grotto 

Old Fisherman’s Grotto hosts scrumptious seafood treats and gorgeous harbor views. Located on the world-famous Old Fisherman’s Wharf in the heart of downtown Monterey, this establishment serves locally caught seafood. The most popular item on the menu is the world-famous clam chowder. This dish represents the local seafood of Monterey Bay. The restaurant also features salad, steak and pasta menus for guests wanting something other than seafood. 

The location of this restaurant attracts people the most. Visitors can enjoy views of the wharf harbor and boats. There is also a myriad of wildlife to see: seals, sea lions, shorebirds, and jellyfish. The wharf also offers visitors a chance to explore local shops.
