Graduates who are planning to attend commencement this spring have received an informational email containing details about this academic year’s graduation ceremony.
Similar to last year, graduation will be held at the Salinas Sports Complex, however, there will now only be one ceremony. All students participating in commencement are asked to meet at the Rabobank Stadium at the Salinas Sports Complex with check-in at 8:30 a.m. The commencement ceremony is set to begin at 10 a.m.
GradFest is set to be in the Otter Student Union Ballroom from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 3 and 4 where students, according to the email sent out, “can buy their caps and gowns, order Commencement invitations, buy class rings, take graduation portraits, socialize with other graduates receive free professional clothing from Otter Outfitters and more.”
Students can also pick up their honor cord if they are eligible at Grad Fest. Caps, gowns and stoles can also be ordered from the Herff Jones website to be shipped to their chosen address, or to save on shipping costs, have it picked up at Grad Fest.
Commencement tickets are going to be electronic this year and each student will receive one graduate ticket for themselves, as well as six tickets for their guests. These tickets will be available starting at 10 a.m. on April 5 and until noon on April 22. All attendees over the age of two are required to have a ticket to the ceremony.
There will also still be affinity ceremonies where students can receive an affinity stole. The registration will open in February and feature nine different ceremonies outlined below.
