Men’s basketball out of the race for CCAA Tournament

The California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) men’s basketball team fell short by five points against East Bay, excluding them from the CCAA tournament race. The final score was 80-75, giving East Bay a winning streak of four heading into their last league game this Saturday.

The Otters strived to break the lead throughout the game, but in the first half, an offensive foul gave East Bay a chance to shoot free throws and made the lead go from three to five points.

While they fell short by a few points, CSUMB fought hard with a man-to-man defense, and Damjan Agovic (#20) defended the paint with some great blocks in the second half. The last minute of the game was intense, as we were down by 4 with 35 seconds left. The Otters fouled three times in the last 30 seconds and East Bay made all six of their attempted free throws.
