Students earn about Womxn’s History Month through scavenger hunt

The Otter Cross-Cultural Center (OC3) hosted the Herstory Adventure scavenger hunt in honor of Womxn’s History Month. From March 14 to 17, students could look around the California State University, Monterey Bay campus to find “herstory” cards.

Each day, three cards were hidden throughout the campus, featuring modern womxn and femme people. The cards shared their “emotional reflection stories to help others heal and find hope,” according to a post on the OC3’s Instagram about the event.

Students could scan a QR on the card or type in the link manually to take them to a Google Form, where they would enter the name of the womxn and the number of the card they found.

After finding all three cards for the day, students could then submit their Google Form response and would be entered into a raffle for prizes. Students entered into the raffle could potentially win a mini speaker, projector, or Hydro Flask.

The OC3 hosts events like this fairly regularly. Their next event for Womxn’s History Month is on March 21 in The Rookery of the Otter Student Union. Students can join the OC3 for a Paint and Sip session where they can learn more about womxn’s empowerment. Students looking to learn more can follow their Instagram @csumb.oc3 or check on MyRaft for more upcoming events.
