Letter from the Editor: Jenna Ethridge

Dear Otters,

To start off, I want to thank the staff, faculty, students, community members and readers of The Lutrinae for such a terrific academic year. Despite our small staff, we were able to consistently put out content that we were passionate about and felt impacted our community. Our staff is made up of a group of extremely dedicated and hard-working individuals with a passion for journalism. Together, we won four awards from the California College Media Association, including Best Overall Newspaper Design and Best Newspaper.

Being editor-in-chief of The Lutrinae was, without doubt, the highlight of my time at California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB). I have learned so much since being hired two years ago as assistant editor-in-chief and I am excited to apply my acquired skills to future endeavors after graduation next semester. I know that the people chosen to take over next year will continue The Lutrinae’s legacy and make past staff members proud. I encourage them to give this paper everything they have to offer – to make it their own, to be an accurate representation of CSUMB and to have fun while doing it.

We will be on hiatus throughout the summer, but are ready to jump right back in this Fall 2020! Good luck with finals, stay safe and have a great break.

Signed,

Editor-in-Chief Jenna Ethridge
