Lessons from Ferguson

“In association with Otter Cross Cultural Center, Associated Students is proud to be hosting the 2019 All Black Gala: Lessons from Ferguson!” says the Associated Students webpage, “This is a formal event celebrating Black Hxstory and the immense diversity of Black culture and brilliance.”

The gala will be held on Sunday, Feb. 10 from 6 to 10 p.m. in the University Center Ballroom and doors will open to guests officially at 5:30 p.m. This annual event is free to all California State University, Monterey Bay students with their Otter ID. Prices for faculty, staff and alumni is $5. The general public is $10 and VIP tickets are $15.

“This year’s program will reflect on the events leading up to Ferguson, MO., as well as engage in cultivating strategies for healing and social transformation,” says the Associated Students webpage, “Our keynote speakers are Michael Brown Sr., Marcellus Buckley and Dr. David Ragland.”
