New Sips, Old Faves: What’s Brewing at the Library Café

The Library Café has remained one of the most popular spots on campus for students to get drinks, pastries and refreshments between classes or while studying. Over the summer, they received an updated menu with some new drink options as well as some returning crowd favorites. From refreshers with the options of tea, lemonade and Monster Energy to a new Nutella latte, the library cafe has prepared a diverse menu of sips and sweets for students.

Nutella Latte (New):

With a spoonful of Nutella spread, a shot of espresso, milk of your choice and a light topping of cinnamon, the Nutella Latte brings autumnal cozy vibes to our own Library Café. Perfect for those marathon study sessions, the Nutella Latte balances creamy sweetness with a caffeine kick strong enough to keep you focused. A foggy day is almost required to sip this beverage; it pairs well with the turning of leaves or even the soft rustling of pages in the library. A great treat for the upcoming fall season.

Strawberry Sails Lemonade Refresher (New):

If you are looking for a refreshing, sweet and tart combination for a humid day, the Strawberry Sails Lemonade Refresher is the perfect choice. With a delicious blend of strawberry and peach syrups, this drink brings strong flavors and a pleasant tartness. Leaning more toward strawberry than peach, it makes a sweet and fruity option for anyone craving something light and cooling. Students say it’s nice to see more cold drink choices on the menu, especially ones that feel like a treat rather than a caffeine fix. As a fourth-year liberal studies major, Kaydence Pearson put it, “It reminds me a lot of those Disneyland Minute Maid popsicles. I used to love those. Very refreshing.” With stronger tart flavors from the lemonade, this refresher is a bright addition to the Library Café menu.

Point Lobos Lemonade Refresher (New):

A lighter option, the Point Lobos Lemonade Refresher balances passionfruit and watermelon for a softer sweetness. Passionfruit leads, with watermelon lingering in hints of aftertaste, while the lemonade adds a bright tartness. Fans of Arnold Palmer iced tea may enjoy swapping the lemonade for a tea option. A lighter refresher that offers the sweetness of passionfruit to satisfy any sweet and refreshingly cold cravings you have. This refresher brings a soft, revitalizing sweetness to the menu and is perfect for a warm day, where you can enjoy the sun and sip.

Matcha (Returning):

While matcha may not be everyone’s favorite, the Library Café proves otherwise, featuring it as one of the most popular drink options to this day (and our returning favorite). Smooth and balanced, it’s available hot or iced, making it a versatile choice year-round. The earthy matcha flavor isn’t overpowering, leaving room to customize with syrups – peach being the most popular addition among students. Whether you grab it with dining dollars or cash, this green favorite remains one of the most reliable and refreshing options on the menu.
