With spring break right around the corner and not everyone wanting to break their bank or travel far, it’s Hayley here- from Takes Two to Review taking a break from the movies and turning to the endless streamable opportunities of TV.
“Temptation Island”

For all our reality show watchers, or anyone looking for a fun girls’ night binge sesh of romance and drama then this show may just be the one for you. The show is on its ninth season and freshly launched on March 12 on Netflix. It has a predicted reunion special estimated to come out the first week of April. What better time to dive in and finish the season in preparation for the aftermath of four couples’ trials and tribulations since they have left Temptation Island?
Incredibly similar to other popular shows like “Love Island” and “Love is Blind,” with the formula of speed dating, hot people, tropical settings and fatal fast attractions, this show may be the perfect low-stakes binge to watch with snacks, mocktails and friends!
“You”

Catch up on “You.” Going from the twists and turns of reality romance right into the turmoil of horror romance, the final season of “You” is just a few short weeks away from airing on Netflix. With a release date of April 24, spring break would be the perfect time to catch up on seasons one through four or rewatch to refresh your memory before the fifth season drops. A haunting dark horror comedy, that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat and deep in your feelings questioning just how much murder is justifiable in the name of love.
“The Studio”

Moving away from the romance and into something a bit more meta, “The Studio” is set to hit Apple TV on March 26. With a stacked cast including Seth Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders and Bryan Cranston you may want to tune into this one. A show for any of my fellow movie buffs out there, it follows Matt, played by Rogan and his team of misfit narcissistic coworkers, into a deep dive behind the scenes of what it takes to make a great movie. Breaking the fourth wall, lined with harsh truths and comedy, this is one to pop the popcorn for, while pulling an all-nighter camped out on the couch this break.
“Mythic Quest & Side Quest”

A little two-for-one spinning off Rob Mcelhenney’s show “Mythic Quest,” “Side Quest” is described as the “expansion pack” to the original show and is also coming soon, releasing on March 26 to Apple TV. This one is for any Dungeons and Dragons players out there, or anyone just into the mythical side of all things games, comics and cards. A comedy that could easily live in the same universe as “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “Letterkenny” or “Community” it’s sure to be full of real-life laughs and speedy short episodes – perfect for anyone looking for a quick binge this break. Or even as the background noise to your own mythical game night.
