Carmel-by-the-Sea’s Annual Pumpkin Roll

For the 8th year, Carmel by the Sea is hosting its Annual Pumpkin Roll. Everyone is invited to meet up at the “truckload of pumpkins located between Ocean Ave and Santa Fe Street” to pick a pumpkin and get ready to watch them roll. The event takes place on October 26th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to all ages. This event can be a fun activity for friends and family alike, to connect with their community and watch some pumpkins race, tumble, collide and smash their way down the road!

Ghost Tours on Cannery Row

Next on our list is a two-for-one, offering two ghost tours to the public of Monterey. The tours run through Zucchini’s Magic Shop and Oscar’s Playground.

There are two different tours offered, the first exploring “the twisted corridors of Historic Cannery Row” giving an eerie spin on the history and dark truths of the area. For this tour, they are also offering ghost detectors for an additional $7 to anyone interested in taking the tour up a notch.

The second tour focuses on Old Monterey. This tour reveals the secrets of California’s first city. In this tour one can expect a deep dive into Monterey’s history, going as far back as the Mexican-American War of 1846. By offering a little more history and a little less ghost investigation, participants are asked, “Are you prepared to explore the dark and sinister past that only California’s Cradle of History can reveal?”

Each tour can accommodate up to 20 guests and are running every night through Halloween. Tickets go for $35 a person.
