Spring is in the air, and so is excitement for CSUMB’s 2018 commencement. Otters who will be walking in the ceremony have the opportunity to get their affairs in order with the help of GradFest. This spring’s GradFest is being held April 11-13, and it offers the chance to purchase your cap and gown, take graduation portraits, join the Alumni Association, and much more. This event is held in the University Ballroom from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 11, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. April 12 and 8 a.m.-1 2p.m. April 13.
In the midst of Capstone projects and finals, GradFest is a festive way to celebrate the nearing end to collegiate cramming. Furthermore, it is a great place to ask any questions about the commencement ceremony. Graduating senior Mathew Jim Yang reflects on this whirlwind time of year. Yang said, “For me, graduating is a scary but also very exciting moment in my life. I am sad that I have to leave a place that I have gotten so comfortable with. GradFest will be an eye opener, like that ‘It’s really happening’ shocked feeling. I will be attending graduation, and I am excited.”
GradFest is sponsored by CSUMB Alumni Association, Herff Jones, CSUMB MBA Program, and Grad Images. Finish the semester strong, and get ready to celebrate this incredible milestone that all Otters hope to reach one day.
